Welcome to BFCD and a Better Future for the Extreme Poor of Cambodia.

BFCD is registered and approved by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) since February 2009 to work in 7 Provinces: Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, Preah Vihea, Udor Meanchey, Koh Kong, Steung Treng and Pursat.  Headquarters are based in Siem Reap Province. Its mission is to provide education, nutrition and better farming practices to areas of extreme poverty with the intent of helping communities learn to be self-sufficient.

The BFCD, with support, intends to expand to another 17 provinces/cities around Cambodia. BFCD is dedicated to improving the lives of the Orphans, Disabled People, Elderly and Vulnerable people and children who have dropped out of school in order to help their families.  Founded and operated by local Cambodians, there is a full understanding of what is needed and how to inspire change in the numerous communities.

The BFCD is newly established and needs your help.  Volunteers, including those with technical expertise, plus school supplies, materials and donations, sponsors for the children and for the programs, are all needed.  Programs include English classes, health education, agriculture, vocational training, job placements and micro-business coaching are set up through Self-Help Groups that are run efficiently and effectively.

Vision

Our vision is for orphans, people with disabilities, the poorest students, elderly and vulnerable people in Cambodia to live in good living conditions with dignity and find hope and opportunities for long-term improvement with national and international recognition.

Mission

BFCD is committed to teach English, agriculture, health, vocational skills, and to  provide job placement, good governance while instilling environmental awareness so that orphans, disabled people, the poorest children and students, elderly and vulnerable people find hope and opportunity for a better future.

Goal:

The BFCD will achieve the funding and overall support to lift Cambodians currently living in extreme poverty into a better future.  Our focus is on orphans, people with disabilities, the poorest students, elderly and, overall, the most vulnerable people. By providing practical training in agriculture, health and environmental concerns plus facilitating job placement and the growth of mico-business, communities will develop with better incomes, living conditions, hope and opportunities for the future.
